What made you first get into fitness?
I have been an athlete my whole life. My dad was a powerlifter and my mom and uncle owned their own gym back in the day.
What motivates you to show up every day?
It’s my escape from the world — my therapy.
What made you first get into fitness?
My parents always promoted a healthy, active lifestyle and I played sports my whole life — often two or three at a time, all the way through high school. When I decided not to continue on to collegiate-level track and field as a high jumper, I finally committed to the gym regularly as an 18-year-old high school graduate.
What motivates you to show up every day?
My friends who invited me to the gym had already been working out for about a year, but were naturally much smaller than me. I came in and lifted more than them on the first day and they couldn't believe it. My body responded immediately to the workouts and I gained 30 lbs of muscle in the first year! The physical transformation I was witnessing right before my eyes in the mirror everyday was the positive reinforcement for the hard work put forth in the gym that motivated me to continue to put in the work for further progress.
What made you first get into fitness?
I was always into sports. I played football, from Pop Warner, up through high school, college and semi-pro. After a knee injury when I was 28, I decided to stop playing football. Since I had always been in the gym for football, bodybuilding was just the next natural progression for this competitive spirit of mine.
What motivates you to show up every day?
Self-motivation! The motivation to get better everyday, no matter how little. I'm also hoping to become an IFBB pro bodybuilder someday, so chasing that goal helps a lot, too.

What made you first get into fitness? In 2014 I had been asked to attend an award ceremony for work. I knew I had gained some weight, but trying to find a dress became stressful very quickly. No tummy-tucker or different style of dress hid the fact that I was so self-conscious and unhappy. I decided I had had enough and joined up to the gym. I stuck at it for a year doing cardio and the little amount of other exercises I knew how to do until a great friend of mine introduced me to weight lifting. Never did I realize I'd find a passion in it — let alone still be going two years later. |

What made you first get into fitness?
I was 300+ lbs, on the verge of diabetes and has high blood pressure — living a very unhealthy biker lifestyle. I ordered Insanity back in 2012 and lost 75 lbs. Then I went to professional wrestling school and started chasing a childhood dream! What motivates you to show up every day? Remembering the larger than life wrestlers I watched growing up. I'm never satisfied with my current build. I see the progress and want more! What are your health and fitness goals for the future? I just want to look like a monster when I step into the ring. I'm already bigger than most guys I've encountered in the ring, but I want to be bigger and leaner. |
What made you first get into fitness? I wasn't always an athlete. At least I wouldn't have considered myself one. However, my family was always health-conscious and athletic. My mother, back in her day, was a nationally-qualified swimmer for Britain and my father was an old-school golden-era bodybuilder who trained with the Mentzer brothers. I was involved in martial arts from the age of 6 until my mid-teen years and I played some sports when I hit middle school. I was involved with soccer, basketball and wrestling. Wrestling became my main focus throughout high school, but to be honest, I didn't really like it. What I did like was the intense conditioning involved. After high school I joined the U.S. Navy — and everything fitness-wise just kind of exploded. I became a command fitness leader, got collateral duties that made fitness important to my survival and became a certified personal trainer. I also got involved in the bodybuilding scene and fell in love with it my last few years in the military. |
What made you first get into fitness?
I've always enjoyed fitness but in the past year decided to go hard and heavy and get into the best shape I've ever been in. I'm Currently A NPC figure competitor and going to nationals in November . Going for Pro! so I'm in the gym every single day with no days off.. and I love it!
What motivates you to show up every day?
I love seeing results and I love seeing myself grow — that's what motivates me.

The time has come. The time where a person decides to make a change in their attitude, health and life. Making a change in eating and getting into better shape is a positive choice many do daily. Getting that gym membership is a big step — but an even bigger step is dedicating time and consistency on using the membership. One of the many ways to stay motivated on a fitness journey is by dressing for success.

What made you first get into fitness?
I grew up involved in sports throughout middle and high school so I have always been intrigued to the idea of fitness and physical activity. It wasn’t until after I had my second child, almost hit 200lbs, felt depressed and hated the way I looked and most of all the way I felt, that I couldn’t take it anymore. I was involved in a tragic car accident in 2010 right before I had my 1st born which left me with multiple injuries and initiated my spiraling into an unhealthy lifestyle. One day I decided that if I wanted to be healthy and set a good example for my kids my priorities needed to change.

My fitness journey began back in 2000. I wanted to compete in bodybuilding as a hobby away from my law enforcement career. I needed something to relieve stress. I trained about 2 years and started competing in the NPC in 2002. I placed first in the middleweight class at the Nebraska State NPC RK Solid fitness and figure, and third overall. After, I stopped competing due to my SWAT days but still worked out. In 2008 I decided to get my personal training certification through the IFPA. I continued that on the side until 2011. I left law enforcement and moved my family to Omaha, NE. After a few years of depression after leaving my career and great teammates I gained allot of weight and reached around 275lbs on a 5’7” frame. |
