Have A Dream? Work For It!

November 27, 2016

work on your dreams

How many times in your life have you told yourself that you wished you’d started that business, gotten in a better shape, built better relationships? We all want something, whether it is a new job, healthier eating habits, or simply a more positive outlook on life. Have you ever considered what may have been stopping you from achieving all these goals? Sure, it could be that you are busy or lack perfect genetics, or perhaps, you feel that you don’t have any support from those around you.

Truth is, what separates you from anyone who’s ever made a name for themselves is their decision to actually work for their dreams.

Ever heard of the saying that it takes 20 years to make an overnight success? Nothing in life worth pursuing comes easy; and nothing ever comes fast. When you look at someone whose life inspires you, be sure to also read about the years when they were just a nobody with an idea in mind that no one else cared about. Read about how many times they had to hear ‘no’ for an answer, and how many times they had failed before they became “an overnight success.”

When you keep telling yourself your dreams aren't achievable, all you are really saying is that you don’t want to walk the extra mile or dedicate yourself fully. That’s something we can’t abide here at Dissident. We’re committed to keeping people positive and inspired. That’s why we make some of the best motivational workout shirts and gym accessories on the market.

Working toward your dream is hard work. It is only natural to get overwhelmed by the amount of effort needed to achieve even tiny results. When you are overwhelmed, it is easier to return back to your status quo and the life you are used to. But working on your goals can also be a lot of fun, especially when you have cool workout clothes like the ones we make here at Dissident!

Achieving your goals can be the most rewarding experience you may ever have, and if you stick through the hard times, the outcome will be so much more exciting. To help you through the tough times, here are a few ways you can employ to actually enjoy all the hard work.

1. Set Time Aside For Exploration

Getting stuck in crossing off your to-do items may make you feel like you are making a great progress, but let’s be honest, it can get boring really fast. Your dream is not set in stone, and if you give yourself time to explore you may find better and more productive ways of getting closer to your goals. Set time aside for imagining the outcome, and how it will make you feel. By doing so, you will give yourself more reasons to continue pushing!

2. Take Time Off

When you have a dream it may be tempting to put all your free time into working on it. You may fall into trap of wanting to be active 24/7. This, however, is a road to exhaustion and lack of motivation and creativity. Your body and your brain need time to relax to work properly. Make sure you don’t abandon your social circles, or stop having fun and enjoying your hobbies. Listen to your body, it will tell you when it needs time to relax. It will thank you with a rekindled passion for achieving your goals and better, more creative ideas.

3. Remember Why You Started

It is easy to lose motivation if you forget the reason of why you started in the first place. Whether you are striving to attain the body of your dreams or build an epic career, don’t ever forget what motivated you to take the first step. Looking back at your initial reasons to put in the work will keep pushing you towards achieving your goals.

Not one truly successful person got to where they are at easily. They’ve worked their way up while ignoring the naysayers and focusing on their big vision. Stop making up excuses of why you can’t be one of them. Work for it, and your dream will be yours.

How to Develop Your Self-Trust
How to Develop Your Self-Trust

November 10, 2019

Do you trust yourself? Most of us don't ask that question too often as we naturally tend to think that we all do. What many of us don't realize is that your level of self-trust can be different about different things. You may trust your instincts and yourself in some things, like driving your car or caring for pets, for example. But what about when it comes to making big commitments or decisions? Do you trust your intuition and reasoning to make decisions that are actually yours and makeYOU happy and not someone else?

No matter how you handled yesterday, there is nothing you can do about it now. Whatever tomorrow has to offer has yet to be unveiled – and you have no control over it. The only time you can control is NOW – so bring your A-GAME and make the best of it.

You may think you can just do it tomorrow  but tomorrow is a myth because there is always a tomorrow. If you are not going to do it now, then you may never actually get around to doing it. Make the best of the now and get right to what you planned to do.
