No matter how your character is, there will always be times when you just want to give up.
It may feel like you have been trying too hard, and you are sick and tired of working your butt off for some goal you may never attain. Whether you are striving to achieve your fitness dreams, get promoted at work, or anything else worth getting, you may notice that at some point you will start doubting yourself and wanting to simply give up.
Sustained inspiration is why we created the motivational workout shirts we offer here at Dissdent. When you’re sweating, sore, and wondering why you do this to yourself day in and day out, we want you to look in the mirror and see your inspiration staring you right back in the face.
To help you keep pushing, here are six reasons that you should consider when you feel like you can't go on anymore.
The dreams you have for yourself is what makes you so unique. You were born with a set of talents that can touch other people’s lives and even change the world. By giving up whenever life gets tough you are basically giving up on yourself. You tell yourself that you don’t matter. Your life and dreams don’t matter. There were millions of dreamers before you and if they’ve all given up the world would never be the same.
One of the reasons so many of us give up in the middle of achieving our goals is because we start to believe that in order to continue pushing we need some external support. Whether you think it is money, time, luck or whatever else; everything you need you already have within you. Stop making excuses and keep pushing.
Before you abandon your dream because you are tired of working hard, think about how you would feel if you would have to ask yourself “what if” for the rest of your life. Rarely we regret the things that we have done.Even if we fail at something most of us would still believe it was worth trying. Giving up, however, does not give you any closure and only leaves you hanging wondering if your life would be different have you continued pushing.
Be realistic; nothing in your life you have ever mastered took just one day. The bigger the goal you set for yourself, the longer and harder you will have to push to attain it. Also, the bigger the dream, the more mistakes you are going to make along the way. Learn from them but don’t let them stop you from reaching your full potential.
You don’t have to tell everyone what is going on in your life. But don’t push away those who truly care either! Your friends and family who love you can be your solid rock in the time of self-doubt. Let them know you are working on achieving a complicated goal and let them inspire and motivate you.
They say it is always darkest before the dawn. Often when you feel like you are about to give up is when you make your biggest break-through. Do not abandon your dream because it is becoming more tough. You may be closer to the finish line than you think.
Do you trust yourself? Most of us don't ask that question too often as we naturally tend to think that we all do. What many of us don't realize is that your level of self-trust can be different about different things. You may trust your instincts and yourself in some things, like driving your car or caring for pets, for example. But what about when it comes to making big commitments or decisions? Do you trust your intuition and reasoning to make decisions that are actually yours and makeYOU happy and not someone else?
No matter how you handled yesterday, there is nothing you can do about it now. Whatever tomorrow has to offer has yet to be unveiled – and you have no control over it. The only time you can control is NOW – so bring your A-GAME and make the best of it. You may think you can just do it tomorrow – but tomorrow is a myth because there is always a tomorrow. If you are not going to do it now, then you may never actually get around to doing it. Make the best of the now and get right to what you planned to do. |
