As the New Year approaches, before you start setting your goals for the upcoming year we encourage you to DREAM BIG! Dream as if nothing is impossible, as if there are no limitations holding you back from achieving your wildest dreams this year! It is very important to think about your dreams on a grand scale. The size of your thinking reflects the size of your emotion. Big goals and big dreams inspire your creativity. They allows you to tap into your most resourceful state and unlock your full potential.
We often hold back from having big dreams because we’re afraid of what people will say, or we’re afraid of being judged. You don't need anybody's validation. You need to come to terms with the fact that if your trying to do something that hasn't been done before, chances are people around you won't get it, nor will they encourage you, and that's ok!
There is nothing more impactful, and nothing that works faster than for you to put aside your own limitations and begin dreaming and fantasizing about the things that you can become and have and do.
People that accomplish great things and achieve big goals have really strong reasons that drive them through the adversity and the obstacles they face. What is your reason for doing the things your going to do this year? Your reason is your vision. When dreams turn into your why, they become a vision. Your vision is the gas in the engine that causes things to happen.
A goal is a vision that goes to work. You have to have big dreams that lead to a vision that leads to goals.
Now that you've got a dream, here's how to start moving that intangible idea into reality.
Start Small
After you have committed your heart to a big dream, it is time to get to work. Rome was not built in a day – and you will not get to the peak of your dream right away. Most of the time, you do not have the strength, the skill or the resources to hit the ground running right off the bat. It is OK to start small.
Starting small does not mean you will not get there, or that it will take forever. The plan is to start where you are right now and improve gradually – building the capacity to take on bigger challenges.
You see, a big dream is more like a journey than a task. If you can commit yourself to continuously developing yourself and increasing your strength, you are ready to go.
It is alright to start small, but it is never cool to remain small. Starting small is not an excuse for mediocrity, and it is never a ticket to failure. You start small so that you can naturally grow until you are ready to operate – and make your life phenomenal, as you have always wanted.
Act Now
Now you have a big dream, and you are willing to start small. The next decision you need to make is to start right away. You may have all the right strategies to execute a perfect idea, but if you do not start right away, they will all amount to nothing.
In the realm of weight loss and fitness, a delay is the end of your dream. The more you wait until you “are ready,” the worse it gets for you. You cannot afford to be a follower of your fatigue. If you are waiting to be ready, you will never get anything done.
You must come to realize the value of today, this moment and how much it can affect the rest of your life. “Now” is the only time you will ever have. Use it wisely.
