Nothing stops us from achieving our dreams more than excuses and stories we create in our heads. "I can'ts" killed more dreams than any failure ever did. Success is not an accident. We didn’t get lucky. Every accomplishment is the product of hard work. Becoming great at something means showing up every day, no matter how hard it may be, and continuing to improve yourself no matter what. Hard work without real dedication, however, is a recipe for failure. Working hard for a few days or even months and then giving up because you are not seeing results you want as fast as you want - that only leads you to lose hope and trust in your own powers.
"We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort."
We, as human being, are universally wired to want instant gratification with minimum effort. Anything worth pursuing, however, never comes in easy. To get what you want, you need to first get your brain straight. Keep your eyes on the prize and put all you effort and dedication for pursuing it.
Everybody won't understand what your doing, why your doing it, and where your heading. Realize that it's ok! Just focus on getting there, tune out the noise. Don't be afraid to separate yourself. People recognize results, they don't get it unless they see it! Stay dedicated and focus on bettering yourself!
What do you really want? Too many people fail to commit themselves simply because they’re never totally sure what it is that they want. When determining your wants, be specific and detailed; leave no room for ambiguity. Do you want to step on the stage by the end of this year even if you have never worked out in your whole life yet? You only get one shot at this life, so don't be afraid to dream big! Let yourself go. Ignore all of the world’s perceived limitations for a minute and give yourself a chance to live your life to the fullest.
Now that you know what you want, it is absolutely necessary to get clear on why you want it. You can get by for a little while just knowing what you want without the true reason behind it. But no truly dedicated individual is capable of achieving great things in life without honestly coming to terms with the why. Why do you need to drag yourself to the gym? Why do you need to eat healthy? Why not just live a comfortable life without striving to achieve more than you already have? By discovering the why, your goals take on a greater purpose.
Nobody likes to wake up early. Nobody likes having to stay in the office late. And yes, most of us would love to eat that dessert (or, perhaps, two in one session!) By living a dedicated life, you are ensuring that every single thing you do brings you closer to your goal. If you’re not moving closer to your goal, you’re moving farther away. Dedicated people are aware of the sacrifices ahead and embrace the opportunity to improve.
