CARVE YOUR OWN PATH

CARVE YOUR OWN PATH

At Dissident, we’re about being original and authentic.

We're all born with unique gifts and passions that sometimes require extra courage and motivation to pursue. Unfortunately, we are not always surrounded by positive reinforcement from the people in our lives or the messages we receive in our culture.

To be Dissident means to carve a path through whatever adversity or negativity is in our way, reach our highest potential and achieve our dreams — no matter the odds.

No matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to turn things around — or make a pivot and blaze a new trail to a better, more fulfilling life. Whether it’s making a lifestyle change, pursuing a new career or course of study — or making a change in a workout routine, if you know deep down that it’s the right move, DO IT.

It may require a leap of faith, an overhaul of your habits, or a level of discipline you have never had in your life. It might actually be the most challenging thing you have ever done in your life. Embrace the challenge, and despite the struggles, enjoy the process! As Ralph Waldo Emersononce said, “Life is a journey, not a destination."

With this idea in mind, we’re carving our own path with new products this Christmas season. While other gym wear companies are releasing typical Christmas styles, with typical colors — we’re going Platinum this holiday. We’ve got a full line of Platinum gear coming so stay tuned! In the meantime, we’re releasing the first of the line, our Sleeveless Platinum Tune Out Hoodie, available for release Monday, December 11. Enjoy a sneak peek here!

Many people in life entertain many possibilities but not really committed to making any of them a reality. They want the best outcome, but they don’t want to do the work that is needed to achieve this. Most people won't fully commit and therefore achieve poor results and wonder why. The difference between people who achieve great success in the main areas of their lives compared to the people who don’t is the degree to how much they commit to themselves and their dreams.

So many people think they aren't where they want to be, because they don't have the talent to do so, they aren't as "lucky" as others. In all honesty it takes about 10% talent to achieve something great, the other 90% is based on how much heart you have. How much you are willing to work when no one else is watching. Putting all you have into your ambitions, and never cashing out early. This is what separates you from the rest.

Failure is a word that can easily be taken so many different ways. It is a word that can transition from context to content, and in reality; it holds a different meaning to all of us. In many cases and in many instances the word “failure” is perceived with a negative characterization.
