What made you first get into fitness?
I first got into fitness and gym training through martial arts. I was competing in local tournaments and although I had an incredible trainer, we had limited time and so my house mate took me to his gym to train with him and from there it took on a passion of its own.
What motivates you to show up every day?
For myself I’d have to say it’s the idea of constantly testing my limits and then pushing them further then what I could before excites me. For me as a trainer though it’s the idea of making an impact in other people’s lives and help them realize they have the potential to become so much more!
What are your Health and fitness goals for the future?
Trying to improve eating habits is always an important goal for me but as for fitness I think it would just have to be aiming to broaden my horizon. There are so many exercises and training methods I have never done and I feel the whole aim of fitness is to not only push yourself but always finding new and different ways to do it.
What’s your favorite exercise?
With weights it would have to be rows with the barbell and different variations of dumbbell bench presses. Body weight exercises? Variations of push-ups and muscle-ups without a doubt.
What’s your day job?
I have my own business called RFT Fitness (Real Functional Training Fitness) as a personal trainer and fitness instructor.
What made you choose Dissident Gym Wear and why do you feel like you relate to the DISSIDENT Brand message?
At first I’ll admit it was just because the gear looked cool and at good prices but that was before I realized that they weren’t promoting gym clothing but also a movement, one that is trying to teach us to take pride in ourselves but also to be humble, that it’s alright to compete against one another but to also support each other and most of all, be the best you can be.
What's your proudest fitness achievement?
There are so many for me but I think one of the best would have to be when I managed to do my first muscle-up. I think it took my brain ten minutes to finally process after months of practicing that I had just done one!
What is your advice to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness?
Everyone was once a beginner and had to start somewhere. Don’t be afraid to start but more importantly don’t try and force yourself to change your whole lifestyle overnight. Fitness is a lifestyle and it’s one that is built over time so just take things one step at a time.

Just to simply keep pushing yourself. Everyone has got the potential to become someone great and there will be times you fall down but you have the strength to get up and keep moving forward.
